Vista Releases qulu Version 3.0

13th June, Reading UK

Vista is proud to announce the launch of qulu 3.0, unleashing the power of cloud based VMS integration.

The latest update of qulu has arrived in the form of 3.0. Gary Rowden, Divisional Director of Vista, comments “qulu 3.0 contains a whole host of new features making it even more powerful than before. More excitingly it brings cloud based technology to our already innovative VMS solution with the added bonus of letting customers try before they buy.”

qulu 3.0 includes the new addition of qulu Cloud (Qcloud). This means users can now login from anywhere in the world and share access to their system, saving hours in port-forwarding setup and coordination. An all new intuitive desktop client enables users to easily add, view, and interact with URLs within it. In addition, the innovative Q server now has a Lite Client with app based control, allowing users to set up the Q with a keyboard and mouse. Using the qulu2 mobile App you can also gain remote display control, displaying up to 4 live streams at a time. A large majority of the improvements to qulu have come about as a result of feedback from Vista’s Voice of Customer initiative such as the addition of Joystick support with Axis T8311.

More developments include the addition of custom user roles, a faster propriety developed media player within the mobile app and a host of newly supported devices. For more information on what qulu 3.0 has got to offer you can read the full release notes.

With the qulu free trial licence you can test out all of the great software features for yourself. Vista BDMs are available to ensure customers are able to get the most out of the qulu free trial licence as well as highlighting the company specific benefits the latest update offers.

Steve Canning, Vista Technical Product Manager, comments “The new qulu Cloud login allows registered users to view any of their systems from anywhere in the world. This new level of freedom gives customers the power to control large systems from one place, saving time and resources. The abundance of features added to qulu 3.0 has not affected the user friendly interface, but has added another level of power to VMS systems as you know them.”

Key features and benefits summarised:

  • qulu Cloud (Qcloud) - is a new architectural addition to the qulu VMS platform
  • Joystick Support Added [Axis T8311]
  • All new desktop client - revamped for Windows, Mac, and Ubuntu Linux

21st February, Reading UK

Vista is pleased to announce the launch of the latest Solutions brochure. As a result of valuable customer and internal feedback prior to and during the creation of the brochure, a user friendly and informative tool has been produced.

Vista Releases All-In-One Number Plate Recognition System

12th January, Reading UK

Vista is proud to announce the launch of the VS50 all-in-one number plate recognition system combining an HD camera and embedded PC. This new system allows the HD video to be processed inside the camera housing, therefore removing the need for the video to be transmitted over a network to an external PC. This combination is available in both a bollard or wall mount format, with or without an overview camera.

The VS50 utilises uncompressed HD video for high accuracy in number plate recognition when utilised in parking and access control systems. The high quality resolution enables the capture of the most challenging plates, including those with half height and stacked characters.

To make the installation stress free, the camera has a simple to use web page set up allowing the uploading of a database to the camera. Device rules can be set up against the database to enable multiple different output options to be controlled including barrier relay control, email output, Wiegand output and LED sign integration. Another feature of the system is that multiple cameras can be linked together via a server PC running parking software to give a complete parking management system including powerful features such as overstay analysis, car park counting, alarm management and ticketing integration.

The VS50 in itself can be a single lane barrier control system, but combined with VNPR servers, the system can be easily expanded to multiple lane operation.

Key features include:

  • Full HD IP camera - The increased resolution allows a single camera to cover a 4m wide lane at the camera’s specified read range
  • Inbuilt IR illuminations and filtering - This guarantees quality images of number plates 24/7, even when the car’s head lights are pointed directly at the camera
  • 3-25m read range - The cameras come pre-configured in 3 different range options, covering read ranges from 3-25m, covering the vast majority of applications
  • HD camera - Allows for higher accuracy in plate reading over a wider (4m) lane
  • All-in-one design - Makes it simple to install
  • Web page set up - Set up and commissioning is very simple, requires minimal training

Bob Forehand, Vista Product Manager, comments: “The VS50 is an exceptional new product within the Number Plate Recognition market, as either a bollard or wall mount format giving you flexibility for installation. This new system combines the HD camera and PC into one unit for high accuracy and quality images covering a variety of read ranges for all applications. The all-in-one design makes it simple to install saving time and money.”

Vista Releases Ultra Low Light Camera Utilising ‘Darkbuster’ Technology

1st December, Reading UK

Vista is pleased to announce the introduction of the VK2-HD30LRIR-PM, a PTZ dome with 500m IR illumination. An addition to the VK2 range, this 1080p 30:1 optical PTZ pendant mount camera utilises a highly sensitive 1/1.9” Sony Exmor CMOS chipset to produce stunning quality colour images. An excellent image quality can still be produced at night when using the camera’s Darkbuster mode for ultra low light situations.

For instances where there is no ambient lighting, the VK2-HD30LRIR-PM includes integral IR illumination. This tracks with the zoom function of the camera providing optimum illumination over the zoom range for balanced images at distances of up to 500m. For troublesome scenes of view, the VK2-D30LRIR-PM incorporates true WDR (120dB). Increased functionality is also facilitated thanks to 4 alarm inputs, 2 way audio and the ability to record directly to a Micro SD memory card. The camera has been designed with a quick fit, quarter turn bayonet adaptor which means it can be installed into any standard 1.5” NPT threaded bracket. This makes installation quicker and easier whilst also avoiding excessive twisting on the cabling.

The VK2-HD30LRIR-PM is ONVIF compliant and fully compatible with Vista’s software and hardware recording and control solutions as well as other 3rd party manufacturers’ VMS systems.

Key features include:darkbuster_trademark-logo

  • Ultra low light - Uses Darkbuster technology to produce high definition colour images even in extremely low light scenes
  • 500m Tracking IR Illumination - The integral IR is synchronised with the zoom function to provide optimum illumination up to 500m
  • Full HD recording - Full HD 1920x1080 resolution ensures excellent images at up to 60ips
  • Triple streaming - Allows different streams to be configured for different uses, with Event Boost technology available across all streams
  • 4 Alarm inputs - Allows for increased system automation
  • Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) - 120dB of WDR improves image quality in challenging lighting situations

Kramar Donachie, Vista Product Manager, comments: “The VK2HD30LRIR-PM is a great product and a fantastic addition to the VK2 range. When in Darkbuster mode the camera produces stunning quality colour images in extremely low light conditions and the use of 500m of IR illumination in monochrome mode allows for outstanding distances to be covered by the camera.”

Another Successful ‘Voice of Customer’ Launch Event for Vista

4th November, Reading UK

On Thursday 27th October Vista launched its Voice of Customer (VoC) initiative in Manchester. The aim of the event was to provide an opportunity for Vista to sit and listen to the challenges that customers are facing in their business environment, as well as any questions or queries they may have specifically for Vista. In line with the London event the aim was to reflect Vista’s core values of ‘listening and understanding’. Valuable business challenges were highlighted by the guests who offered open and honest feedback to a number of open ended questions. Vista will take this feedback and work alongside its customers to offer the best solution possible. The event was far from a sales pitch and was focussed more around Vista getting a better understanding of the services, products and customer experience that its customers expect.

In 2017 Vista will continue the VoC initiative inviting the same customers to attend similar events throughout the year, not only to share feedback, but to enable Vista to share the changes that have been made as a result of VoC. Commitment from attendees is important to the success of the initiative and in helping Vista to, in turn, help its customers on their journeys.

Voice of Customer has also been set up as an online platform enabling customers to get in touch directly with a member of the team allowing Vista to provide answers to queries, and taking valuable feedback on board to improve services, products and the customer’s experience.

Gary Rowden, Divisional Director - Product Management & Business Development for Vista “Our customer's opinions are very important to us and the better we understand their business challenges and specific needs, the more effectively we can find the right solutions and make their engagement with Vista even more valuable. We appreciate everyone’s very honest feedback from both events and feel that the VoC initiative has got off to a brilliant start, giving us lots to work with.”

Vista brings multi-format HD quality to analogue customers

1st June, Reading UK

Vista has released the new range of high definition analogue cameras and DVRs that allow customers to benefit from significantly improved HD picture quality whilst keeping their existing coax analogue infrastructure.

There are six camera models in the range – three dual format static domes (TVI/CVBS) and three triple format PTZ domes (TVI, AHD and CVBS). The PTZs benefit from using industry renowned Sony STARVIS technology to deliver superb 1080p images with excellent low light performance. In addition, all the cameras include a Wide Dynamic Range of 120dB to improve image quality in challenging lighting situations.

Using the same tried and tested user interface, the QTVI DVRs look and feel identical to the popular QP960H range, providing an easy upgrade path. The DVRs are packed with high end features such as coax control of PTZ domes, alarm inputs/outputs and audio recording.

As for all Vista products, the new range is also supported by Vista’s 3 year advance replacement warranty.

Gary Rowden, Divisional Director for Vista, comments: “The analogue market is still very important to us. We understand that there are a significant number of end users out there that simply don’t want to go to the expense and inconvenience of replacing their existing coax infrastructure with an IP one. Thanks to our new high definition analogue range, we can now offer those customers a way to easily migrate to HD over coax and benefit from a 3½ times better picture quality than is possible with standard resolution analogue cameras.”

Talk to Vista at IFSEC 2016!

26th May, Reading UK

IFSEC 2016, Stand D1300

Vista will be at IFSEC this year, ready to welcome visitors to the stand to discuss their CCTV requirements. Rather than focusing on products, the Vista stand will reflect their emphasis on providing advice and discussing solutions – regardless of if they’re analogue, hybrid or full IP.

For those visitors wanting to explore how to make the most of their current analogue infrastructure, Vista will be able to advise on key points such as increasing picture quality, without having to replace the coax infrastructure. With a new range of HD analogue products now available, the TVI range can offer high definition images that have typically been the reserve of IP cameras.

If it’s an IP solution that best suits their needs, Vista can discuss a range of options, from entry level NVRs to enterprise VMS packages.

Gary Rowden, Divisional Director of Vista, explains: “Vista’s approach to customers is a little different to that of other CCTV manufacturers. We don’t start with a product and try to sell it to them. Instead, we listen to each individual requirement and advise on the best course of action. We believe that customers can’t have their needs fully met if you don’t start the process this way. Because we work with a range of key technology partners, we can ensure that, even if we can’t provide every aspect of a solution, we can collaborate with those that can. And because we take ownership of a given solution, we’ll work with those partners and ensure that each project is a success. I would encourage visitors to IFSEC to come along to visit us – I think they will be pleasantly surprised with that we have to offer.”

3 Year Advance Replacement

In addition to this advice and support-led approach, Vista believe that competitive pricing doesn’t have to mean low quality. In fact, Vista is so confident in the quality of their products that they have introduced a three year advance replacement policy.

Try Before You Buy!

Having discovered the best solution for their requirements on the Vista stand, visitors will have the opportunity to request a product trial so that they can experience the quality and functionality of the products themselves.
