Vista covers every angle with its latest IP and analogue camera launches

19th April, Reading UK

Vista is proud to announce the newest additions to the VK2 and HDA ranges. The camera launches were supported by the introduction of the new ‘universal’ brackets which greatly simplify installation and were developed in line with ‘Voice of Customer’ feedback. The collective aim of the cameras and brackets is to reduce installation time on site, therefore minimising cost. The use of the latest technology within the cameras and the intelligent product design mean that excellent quality images can be produced and adjustments can easily be made to meet future requirements.

The VK2 range has been developed with the customer in mind. The cameras are designed to reduce bandwidth and storage requirements along with minimising the time required on site installing and adjusting the cameras. Their ability to stream highly efficient H.265 video format, combined with Vista’s advanced “Hi-Stream” bandwidth reducing function, means that storage and bandwidth requirements can be up to 75% lower than that of an equivalent H.264 stream. The VK2 cameras are available in 2MP and 4MP formats and produce crisper images compared to those achieved by general IP cameras. This is as a result of a user definable min/max shutter speed, True Wide Dynamic Range and IR Illumination.

The VK2L range has been designed for those who require a high quality video image at a cost effective price. These brilliant value cameras reduce bandwidth and storage requirements like their VK2 siblings and, due to a wide angle lens, minimise the number of cameras required on site. The key benefits shared by the VK2 and VK2L ranges can be found below:

  • Compatible with all modern NVRs and VMS - H.265/H.264 compression formats making for a flexible system
  • Reduced required levels of bandwidth and storage - Significantly reduced when used in H.265 mode and as a result of Hi-Stream Region of Interest which adds greater compression to areas with no motion
  • Ensure a much crisper frozen image - User definable min/max shutter speed provides much clearer images than general IP cameras

The launch also included an analogue offering to set you apart. The newly released HDA cameras are capable of providing full HD 1080p resolution in TVI HDA format over coax cabling and provide a very flexible solution. A wide range of features make them suitable for many internal and external applications as well as providing excellent quality images without the requirement of an IP knowledge base. The HDA range makes for the perfect transition from analogue to IP and can be used in conjunction with existing analogue infrastructure.

All of the IP and analogue cameras included in the launch are perfect for use with the Vista Viper range of NVRs and DVRs and ONVIF compliance ensures they can also be used on multiple manufacturers’ recording platforms if existing systems are in place. Alongside the cameras, the introduction of a new selection of ‘universal’ brackets simplifies installation and the process of selecting the correct bracket.

Vista adds New Features and More Functions to Viper

27th February, Reading UK

Vista is pleased to announce the latest features and functions of the Viper Range. The Family was launched back in 2017 and Vista is continually working on developing the range in line with customer requirements and feedback to ensure that the perfect solution can be offered.

Although the range is under continuous development the overall purpose of the Viper Family is to provide a multi-format recording platform, allowing end users to pull together Viper High Definition Analogue DVRs and Viper IP NVRs into a single, seamless system. The Viper Virtual Matrix Controller gives you complete control of the system through the uniform and intuitive central management software. The flexible range gives users the opportunity to upgrade their systems at their own pace, with Vista providing high quality service throughout.

The latest addition to the range is Viper-Remote, the app that allows operators to be in constant contact with their security system. The app provides alarm notifications straight to the user’s device, the ability to view live and recorded images remotely, various display options and an intuitive navigation system. The wide-ranging search options also ensure that time is saved when reviewing footage and important events can be found with ease. The app also allows for the management of devices in the system providing the opportunity to add and remove devices whenever necessary, from any remote location.

Vista has also been working to enhance the functionality of the H5 range of NVRs. The latest development is the de-warping function that allows 360 degree cameras to be viewed in a more user-friendly, 180 degree view. This helps to improve user experience by making reviewing images as simple as possible. In response to ‘Voice of Customer’ feedback and suggestions Vista has also been working on making the range compatible with Immix. This is another hugely beneficial function which is on its way.

Bob Forehand, Vista Technical Manager, comments: “The Viper Family is an incredibly flexible range that allows end users to ‘mix-and-match’ Viper units, combining both IP and Analogue systems. The flexibility of the range means that the solution can be developed over time, saving on upfront costs and accounting for the requirements of growing or developing systems. The addition of Viper Remote, Viper Central and the upcoming introduction of Immix make the already differentiated and comprehensive offering even more inviting.”

Vista Partners with BCDVideo to Enhance the qulu Offering

1st November, Reading UK

Vista is proud to announce its latest partnership with BCDVideo. As one of Vista’s core technologies continual improvements and updates are always being made to the qulu range so that the best user experience can be offered. The IP video server is the heart of any video surveillance project. It communicates directly with networks, monitors, cameras, and every part in between and the new partnership means an even stronger server offering.

As the new supplier of qulu servers, BCDVideo can provide the support and technical developments required for Vista to continue offering an innovative, high end video storage solution that works seamlessly with its existing software package. The biggest enhancement to the range is the new SFF (Small Form Factor) server which replaces the current Microserver. The new SFF version provides additional features such as updated processing power and graphics capability, a more powerful CPU processor and increased performance via the on-board INTEL graphics processor unit. These improvements mean reduced costs for the end user as the SFF server now allows both live video and recorded footage to now be viewed, in addition to recording, meaning there is no need to purchase an additional viewing client PC.

Jeff Burgess, President/CEO BCDVideo comments, “Having had the privilege of knowing Gary Rowden for six years, his approaching BCDVideo about innovating new robust solutions for Vista made for an exciting endeavour. The payoff for the Vista customer is a synchronised solution born from the collaboration of two engineering teams functioning as one.”

Designed by BCDVideo, the new qulu servers offer some of the best performing and efficient video management systems on the market today, whilst maintaining the same great qulu experience. The move to BCDVideo allows Vista to take advantage of the technological developments detailed above, but also to improve lead times and support.

Gary Rowden, Divisional Director for Vista comments, “Our partnership with BCDVideo will allow us to offer increased functionality and greater storage levels on our qulu server range and will benefit us and our customers with even higher levels of support. This is an exciting partnership that further enhances the qulu offering.”

Vista Unveils the New Viper Family

26th July, Reading UK

Vista is proud to introduce the new Viper family. The range consists of five innovative products and provides a solution for combining multi-format recording devices into a single, centrally controlled platform. The key benefit of Viper is that it allows for the flexibility of combining existing and new hardware in order to create the simple platform and seamless system that makes sense for you.

What’s in the range?

Each product in the family plays an important role in simplifying your recording system. The Viper Virtual Matrix Controller (VMC) allows the system operator to view cameras from multiple remote Viper NVRs and Hybrid DVRs. These remote devices can be recording standard analogue CVBS, TVI, AHD or IP cameras. All cameras are displayed to the operator as one single system when using the VMC.

The Viper NVRs and DVRs can also be used as standalone systems. Their advanced ‘Smart’ and ‘Thumbnail’ search facilities greatly simplify the operator’s task for finding and reviewing recorded footage. The unique patented ‘WARP’ function also allows a single NVR to become a master unit, allowing the operator to view, control and set up other Viper devices via its own main monitor output. This is extremely useful if space is limited.

Whether used as a combined system or used as stand alone recorders, the Viper family offers installers and end users a superb one stop solution.

Key features of the Viper family include:

  • Full family of IP and analogue products  - Tied together by the Virtual Matrix Controller, an entire system can be built from scratch or an existing system can be modified and pulled together into a centrally controlled system using the VMC
  • Unique patented ‘WARP’ function - Allows control of multiple devices from a master NVR
  • Advanced ‘Smart’ and ‘Thumbnail’ search functions - Make finding and interrogating recorded events very simple

Bob Forehand – Vista Product Manager – “This new Viper family from Vista incorporates 5 product ranges covering both IP and Hybrid Analogue allowing the installer to offer their customers a seamless single system to cover both video formats. The addition of the Virtual Matrix Controller that can be used to “tie” together multiple recorders provides a very intuitive and cost effective single point of control.”

Vista Releases All-In-One Number Plate Recognition System

12th January, Reading UK

Vista is proud to announce the launch of the VS50 all-in-one number plate recognition system combining an HD camera and embedded PC. This new system allows the HD video to be processed inside the camera housing, therefore removing the need for the video to be transmitted over a network to an external PC. This combination is available in both a bollard or wall mount format, with or without an overview camera.

The VS50 utilises uncompressed HD video for high accuracy in number plate recognition when utilised in parking and access control systems. The high quality resolution enables the capture of the most challenging plates, including those with half height and stacked characters.

To make the installation stress free, the camera has a simple to use web page set up allowing the uploading of a database to the camera. Device rules can be set up against the database to enable multiple different output options to be controlled including barrier relay control, email output, Wiegand output and LED sign integration. Another feature of the system is that multiple cameras can be linked together via a server PC running parking software to give a complete parking management system including powerful features such as overstay analysis, car park counting, alarm management and ticketing integration.

The VS50 in itself can be a single lane barrier control system, but combined with VNPR servers, the system can be easily expanded to multiple lane operation.

Key features include:

  • Full HD IP camera - The increased resolution allows a single camera to cover a 4m wide lane at the camera’s specified read range
  • Inbuilt IR illuminations and filtering - This guarantees quality images of number plates 24/7, even when the car’s head lights are pointed directly at the camera
  • 3-25m read range - The cameras come pre-configured in 3 different range options, covering read ranges from 3-25m, covering the vast majority of applications
  • HD camera - Allows for higher accuracy in plate reading over a wider (4m) lane
  • All-in-one design - Makes it simple to install
  • Web page set up - Set up and commissioning is very simple, requires minimal training

Bob Forehand, Vista Product Manager, comments: “The VS50 is an exceptional new product within the Number Plate Recognition market, as either a bollard or wall mount format giving you flexibility for installation. This new system combines the HD camera and PC into one unit for high accuracy and quality images covering a variety of read ranges for all applications. The all-in-one design makes it simple to install saving time and money.”
